Victorian 14K Gold Swallow Bird Bar Pin, Antique Anniversary Gift Brooch

A Victorian era 14K gold bar pin featuring a swallow in flight amongst leaves.  Swallows are known to mate for life and have long symbolized wanting your loved one to return home.  This particular example shows the swallow in high relief in a center disc with a pretty twisted gold wire wrapped around the bar pin extending out from the center.  The piece has developed a lovely patina and the back of the pin also has a hook for attaching pocket watches or fobs.  A lovely piece to add to your jacket lapel or sweater!

Condition: In very good antique condition with some minor surface wear consistent with age and an old repair in the back by the hook.
